Can Renting A Private Jet be Cost Effective?
In order to judge the cost effectiveness of chartering an aircraft you need to determine the cost of your time. When you charter an aircraft you no longer need to show up at the airport two hours before a scheduled departure, you don't need to stand in multiple security lines, or fly from and to destinations of an airlines choice or make unwanted connections. You determine the itinerary. You determine who is going to share the aircraft with you. You determine the departure and destination airports. On a typical trip to the Midwest, with time allowed for parking, check-in, security, flight connection time and baggage collection you could save 3 hours and 20 minutes. And you'd arrive rested and ready to go to work.

Are Private Jets as Safe as Flying on Commercial Airliners?
Charter aircraft operate under the same safety considerations as the major airlines do. All of our aircraft are maintained by FAA certified mechanics under the criteria established by the manufacturer. All our pilots are trained by Flight Safety International in the latest simulators to the same standards as the major airlines. In 10 years of operations SP Aviation has never had an accident, incident or an FAA violation.

How Many People Can You Accomodate at One Time?
The seating configuration of each aircraft is different. The Lear 35 can seat up to 8 passengers but for comfort's sake, on trips longer than one hour, seating should be restricted to six adults. The Lear 55 can also seat six passengers in comfort while the Lear 60 can hold eight.

How Soon Can I Charter A Flight?
On demand charter is just that - on demand. Depending on aircraft availability we can have an aircraft airborne in one and a half hours from the time you call. However, the further in advance you book the flight the better aircraft availability is likely to be.

Do I Need to Set Up an Account for Payment?
SP Aviation requires either payment in advance or a credit card guarantee of payment. Corporate accounts are available.

SP Aviation operates in North, South and Central America and the Caribbean. We can arrange flights to Europe and Asia on request.

Since cell phones are not allowed on jets, all SP Aviation aircraft come equipped with flight phones.

All of SP Aviation's aircraft have outlets for laptop computers or other low power AC applications.

Do You Have Experienced Pilots?
Yes. Our pilots average literally thousands of hours of jet time. They train every six months at Flight Safety International, recognized as the world leader in advanced simulator training. While attending Flight Safety (the training period lasts for one week), every aircraft system is covered in-depth in the classroom. After class each day, the pilots then undergo the most rigorous simulator training imaginable, where they face every known in-flight malfunction and are judged on their ability to handle each scenario. The FAA requires all commercial pilots to attend this type of training every six months, so their skills always remain at the highest possible level.

Do Your Jets Reach Their Destinations as Quickly as Commercial Airliners?
All civilian jets (with the exception of the Concord !) routinely fly at speeds ranging from Mach .77 to Mach .88. Average cruise speeds for most jets is about Mach .80, which equates to about 530 mph. Our jets are no different. What makes chartering a jet so much more time efficient is several factors combined. First, you determine your departure time, to suit your schedule and convenience. Second, there is no need to show up hours in advance. If you want to be airborne by 12:00 noon, arrive by 11:45 am. Third, you will be flown to a suitable airport nearest to your destination on the ground, which may or may not be a large, international airport that the airlines limit themselves to. Finally, there is no waiting on the ground at your destination for things like baggage and rental cars. Your car will be waiting for you on the tarmac and your bags offloaded directly from the plane to your trunk. When all of these factors are taken into consideration, you can save literally hours over time spent flying on the airlines. Over a period of multiple days of traveling, the time savings can be enormous.
